Dedication of a Champion

It is 40 degrees outside. We get in the car and head to the pool early on a Saturday morning. As we pull up to the pool, the eerie steam rises off the pool. I am in my warm flannel jammies and fuzzy slippers and I am freezing, heater blasting full blast. Ryan opens the door, hops out and is ready to go. No complaining, no whining, and happy to be there. The pool is his second home... even in the winter. And I tell myself, this is one dedicated boy... hard working and truly has the love of the the game and of the sport of swimming.

OH gosh! I don't know how he does it. I do not do well in the cold. Even when the pool is heated, you eventually have to get out into the freezing air!
