I'm going there......SOMEDAY!!!! I had great plans for today! I made plans to meet my friend Karen this morning at the temple, and then go to lunch. I got up, got ready, and was out the door only to arrive at the temple and see that the parking lot was only full of a huge crane and a few worker-men. I thought hmmmm.... i will drive over to the other side and park over there, they must be doing work on the parking lot.... only to find that every lot was empty, and that not a soul was in sight, just a few birdies looking for some food on the lawn. I called Ray, who told me that temple was closed.
After re-grouping and realizing how silly we were for not knowing that the temple was closed, we changed our lunch plans to breakfast, and then hit a few stores to do a bit of Christmas shopping (all while were were still dressed in our Sunday best!). All and all, it was still a profitable day, and I am hoping that I still can reap a few blessings for having good intentions and a righeous heart.

oh bummer! that happened to us before. it was during the easter pageant, and we had no idea that the temple closed early. The parking lots were completely full (due to the pageant), and there were tons of people all over the grounds (also due to the pageant). We felt so silly when we walked up the steps to the temple, dressed in sunday best, temple bags in hand...only to pull on the doors, and discover that they were locked. We hid behind some pushes on our way back to the car, and laughed as we watched a few other couples make the same mistake.
I'm glad that you were still able to have a productive and enjoyable day...and I have no doubt that you will be blessed for your efforts.

So fun that you are able to get out and go have fun with Karen (Kendall I assume, right?). Girls days (or nights) are the best
