Through the years trees have come and gone in our house. Our first Christmas tree 30 years ago cost $2.00 was quite sparce and was decorated with cheap ribbon that you would put around a Christmas package... and one ornament. Ray's mom had made us an ornament that year to put on our tree. (A tradition that lasted 2-3 years until too many got married, that's just one of the benefits of being the oldest) A cute little Santa, which was embroidered and took many hours to complete. Each year, our tree has taken on a new theme or look. When Mary and Ryan were little, all of the ornaments seemed to end up on the bottom third of the tree so they could be looked at by happy little children. And many of the ornaments were made by them at pre-school. Many of those have been boxed up, and i have become a bit pickier about the color, and style of my tree allowing only certain items to gain a spot on the tree. But one thing remains constant..... our Santa. He sits each year in the center of the tree, reminding us of the spirit of giving, the love of the season and how much our family means to us during the holiday season and how Santa can add just a bit of magic to our home!
