On the way to Eagle...

Before we started.........and after.....

You know how good you feel when you accomplish a great task.....when you finally get something done and it is a huge relief? Today, we completed Ryan's Eagle Scout Project and I am so glad that it is over and it is such a good feeling. Ryan chose for his project to restore part of the Mormon Battalion Trail that has been ruined by all terrain vehicles and trucks that have left the road making their own path so to speak. We were to go in and remove the ruts made from the tires off the trail, and do "vertical landscaping" -- meaning we plant some bushes which really won't grow but will hopefully keep people off the trail.

Ryan did a great job. He really showed a lot of leadership skills and I saw a side to him that I really don't get to see too often. He did a great job of telling us what to do so to speak, and made sure everything looked perfect (a side I am used to seeing of him, his obsessive compulsiveness). He chose the project because he wanted to do something outside, clear a trail, or something with the forest service. He was supported by good friends, ward members, leaders and family. The weather was perfect and we all had a great time together! We are happy to be done and will soon have a full-fledged eagle scout! YAY!!!

Great job Ryan! Congrats on tackling what I consider to be the hardest part of achieving Eagle. Looks like a great project and nice turnout of support for you as well.

Ryan you are awesome. I still laugh out loud thinking of that story about my parents and the gate you told me Sarah.
