With the start of school, comes the end of summer. We have had a great summer eventhough it seemed too short. Both Mary and Ryan were able to attend EFY. Ryan went the first week of the summer with his best friend Cameron, and Mary just returned from Cedar City where she attended with her cousin Holly. EFY is the greatest thing for a teenager. I just wish that the "EFY HIGH" could last a little longer.
A huge highlight for Mary, Ryan and myself was the opportunity to attend Youth Conference with the youth of our ward where we were able to read the Book of Mormon in 2 1/2 days. We really did it. It was hard at times, but in the end, the spirit of that great book takes over and leaves you with a fabulous experience.
This summer my parents celebrated their 50th Wedding anniversary. We travelled to Oklahoma to help celebrate this great occasion. Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!!!
We were able to stay in Bartlesville with Ray's parents and had a great visit. Ray had fun driving us all over town showing us his schools, where he would play in the creeks, where he would collect pop bottles to cash in for some loot. (My children did not understand this concept). However, Ray was somewhat disappointed that the town had not stayed the same over the past 30 years since he has lived there and some of his old familiar spots were only a memory.
And what would summer in Arizona be without sitting at swim meets and waterpolo matches, sweating yourself to death in the 110 plus degree weather? It was all worth while -- Ryan finished #1 in the city in freestyle, and IM, and #2 in the backstroke. He was also awarded the Hig
And we have decided whenever water is involved, he is there..... we took the youth on a

Nice job on the blog header! What are you talking about? You don't need any help! You guys had such a fun-filled summer. I swear Ryan is going to be the next Michael Phelps. :) I laughed out loud at the part where Ray was talking to you guys about collecting bottles to make money and how Mary and Ryan didn't understand that concept. Too funny. A generational thing I suppose.
